Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen has been surprised by new teammate Gareth Bale.

Bale is a superstar across Europe, but Vertonghen has found him "a quiet boy".

"He's a big star, but he does not behave like a star. Actually he is a very quiet boy," said Vertonghen.

On manager Andre Villas-Boas, the Belgian added: "I like him. As a coach he's a bit like Frank De Boer."
