Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld admits he'd consider a return to Ajax.

However, the Belgium international wants to gain more experience in order to impart it on the younger Ajax players.

"Never say never," he responded to Voetbal Inside to the suggestion of a return to Ajax.

"I had a fantastic time there, became champion a few times, the third star, so these are all very nice memories.

"When I go back, I will have something to teach and I do not want to go there without being able to contribute."
