Ledley King is upset over the tension between Tottenham and England management after his Three Lions call-up.
The London Evening Standard says the player has told close friends at White Hart Lane that the last thing he wants is the conflict of interest which has been sparked by manager Harry Redknapp's claim that Fabio Capello is "mad" to select King for England duty when it is well known he has a chronic knee problem.
This morning the club were trying to resolve what has developed into an impossible situation for a player who does not want to let anyone down. He is due to report for duty with England today when his fitness will be assessed by Capello's medical team.
