Tottenham defender Ledley King says he's never given up on making it back into the England squad.
"I've not totally given up," King said. "It is something I'd have to look at. When the situation comes we'll have to talk about it.
"Obviously it is a difficult situation because there aren't too many players who play internationally who don't train. It's a bit of a unique situation."
King has not spoken to England boss Fabio Capello himself but staff at Spurs have discussed the player with the Italian.
The defender struggles to do any training between matches as his knee swells up and is painful.
"If you put a ball out there I'd play football, if you made me run around a track I'd be struggling," he said.
"Obviously I've come to accept the situation. At the moment I'm learning to deal with it and I haven't given up hope that the knee will keep improving.
"We will see what happens between know and the end of the season. Hopefully next season I can progress again and do a bit more."
