Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen insists they can still chase down Premier League leaders Chelsea.

Tottenham face Burnley at Turf Moor next Saturday while Chelsea welcome Crystal Palace to Stamford Bridge.

"We're trying to catch Chelsea, but it will be very hard," Vertonghen told Sky Sports.

"They look very strong at the moment and you have to be realistic. But it could be a good couple of weeks for us."

Vertonghen has been injured for some of Spurs' biggest games of the season but he is uncomfortable in saying his presence would have made a big difference.

"I missed a couple of big games, Liverpool and City away, so it's not fair to say with me it would have been different," he added.

"I feel very good, especially with the system we play now. We're in great form and doing well, so good times at the moment for Tottenham."
