Tottenham defender Gallas taking legal action against FFF

Tottenham defender William Gallas is taking legal action against the French Federation.

The Mirror says Gallas is ready to sue the French FA in a row over unpaid World Cup bonuses.

The Tottenham defender had planned to donate the money to charities. However, the France Football Federation withheld payment after Les Bleus' dismal showing in South Africa.

Most of the squad agreed to forgo their bonuses but Gallas and Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka are still holding out for theirs.

Gallas's lawyer, Jim Michel-Gabriel, said: "He intends to take this matter before the courts. We'll hold out our hands to the federation one last time.

"Although we've not set a time limit, this case has dragged on too long."

Gallas acted after being enraged by FFF president Fernand Duchaussoy, who said: "We'll only pay up if the courts force us to. We've said playtime is over as far as this case is concerned."
