Tottenham defender Michael Dawson says he loves the idea of facing Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney this weekend.
With increased calls for him to be part of England's 23-man squad for the World Cup finals, Dawson says he will show he is ready for the summer by keeping Rooney quiet at Old Trafford when fourth place Spurs take on Manchester United.
He said: "Rooney's been fantastic this season. It's going to be another good test on Saturday, which I love. Another three points and it will be nine points out of nine.
"I don't see why you can't pick up points as we have against the top teams.
"That's what we're striving for and over the last week or so that's what we've done. We probably proved a few people wrong."
