Tottenham defender Michael Dawson admits he was stunned by his England omission.
Dawson admits he wasn't given any reasons by Fabio Capello why he wouldn't be on the plane to South Africa.
"When the phone started ringing my legs turned to jelly," said Dawson. "I didn't know it was him because I didn't have his number saved. Basically he said, 'It's Mr Capello here and unfortunately you won't be on the plane'. He told me to keep doing what I'm doing and that he will be watching me for the Euros.
"Tom (Huddlestone) got his call five or 10 minutes after me. Mr Capello was obviously going round all the lads who hadn't made it. Then I got a text from Darren Bent asking if we were in. It was strange."
