Tottenham have had a transfer scare over Toulouse midfielder Etienne Capoue.
The People says Spurs believed they had the 25-year-old French international defender in the bag but late interest from Atletico Madrid has held up the deal.
Capoue, who can also play as a central defender, had been a target for promoted Cardiff but Spurs matched their £9.5 million bid which was accepted by the French Ligue 1 side.
But it is believed Capoue wants to speak with Atletico Madrid before making his choice.
