Tottenham are in contact with Inter Milan defender Walter Samuel.

The Argentine veteran is coming off contract in June and exploring his options.

Samuel has welcomed the tentative interest from Spurs, where he would add crucial experience to their defensive options - particularly with a Champions League looming.

The centre-half is expected to leave Inter with the Nerazzurri indicating they want Samuel to accept a 50 per cent pay-cut to stay on next season.
