Gareth Bale has signed a new contract with Tottenham.

The north London club have confirmed that their Wales wide man has agreed a new deal after transforming his career with a stunning run of form.

Tottenham said on their website: "The club are delighted to announce that Gareth Bale has signed a new four-year contract which runs until 2014.

"The 20-year-old's electrifying displays on the left flank have impressed many this season including our One Hotspur Members and International Supporters Clubs who both voted him their Young Player of the Season.

"Winning goals against Arsenal and Chelsea last month also contributed to Gareth being named Barclays Player of the Month for April."
