Tottenham won't give Everton a free run at Wigan Athletic midfielder James McCarthy.

McCarthy is wanted at Everton by his former Latics boss Roberto Martinez, who is set to be confirmed Blues manager today.

However, The Sun says Tottenham are confident they can sign him if he moves.
