Tottenham coaches Clive Allen and Alex Inglethorpe took in Yeovil Town's victory over Northampton on Tuesday.

Jon Obika, who struck on the night, Andros Townsend and Danny Rose are all playing on-loan with the Glovers.

"Jon had a couple of chances but the keeper denied him, one was cleared off the line and then he took his goal well," Allen told the Spurs website. "He took the shot very early with the outside of his left foot and tucked it into the far corner.

"It was a massive goal for Yeovil and he's now scored two goals in a week that could make all the difference for them.

"For all three of our players to perform so well in this situation shows they have great character, they are ready for that challenge and in terms of their development, it's a fantastic step for them.

"We've spoken to people at Yeovil and all three have been a credit to Spurs and their performances were very, very good against Northampton.

"It's exactly what we want for them at this stage and they've stepped up to the plate. We want to see them developing, we want to test them and although we believe they are capable, you never know until they are there because they are playing for people's livelihoods at these clubs and it's a different kind of pressure."

Inglethorpe added: "It was exciting to watch and when Jon scored it was a lovely moment for us. It was great to see him score and for all three lads to play so well.

"Jon has scored his goals, Andros gives them real energy, a wide player that no full-back wants to play against because he's at you all the time and Danny looks very comfortable at right-back.

"For all the performances you get out of the Academy team, this is what we do it for, to see players make their league debuts, to score goals and hopefully progress. That's where the real satisfaction is."
