Tottenham coach Paul Mitchell is being linked with MK Dons.
Karl Robinson left the role last week after more than six years in charge.
Mitchell, 35, is head of recruitment at White Hart Lane but it was announced two months ago that he was working his notice, says the Daily Star.
He made his name at Southampton, where he worked closely with manager Mauricio Pochettino and then followed him to Spurs.
If he lands the Dons job it will be his fourth time there.
Mitchell had two spells at the League One club as a player before becoming head of recruitment.
