Tottenham coach Les Ferdinand can understand Newcastle United fans' frustration over the lack of a striker signing.
It is now 16 summers since the Toon legend arrived from QPR in a £6m deal, with many fans craving a similar signing this year.
When asked if he could understand the bitter disappointment of the United faithful, Ferdinand told the Evening Chronicle: "I certainly can.
"Every club wants to go into the new season with a proven striker and every team wants to be kicking on. You can understand the frustration of a deal not being done, but things have to move on.
"A lot of fans would have been worried by how Newcastle have started the season with what was going on up there.
"However, it has been a good start by Newcastle this season and I hope they can keep it going."
