Tottenham coach Les Ferdinand is delighted with the form of Jermain Defoe.
Defoe hasn't looked back since the start of this season.
"He has been in tremendous form this season," Ferdinand told the Mirror. "People said he could not play up front on his own - well, he has proved them wrong.
"He is lethal in and around the penalty area.
"I have to say that watching the boys train this last week the mood has been good and it has been positive."
And Ferdinand included Kyle Walker in that category. The England full-back received so much abuse after his mistake led to Chelsea's fourth goal that he closed his Twitter account.
Ferdinand said, however: "His confidence will not be affected. He is a young player who is learning all the time. He will come through it OK.
"Southampton will be a test after the Chelsea game but I believe we will pass that test."
