Tottenham are closing on a deal for Southampton goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga.

The Daily Mail says Spurs are close to sealing their first signing of the summer with Gazzaniga set for a move to London.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino wants back-up for No 1 Hugo Lloris and has identified his countryman as the man he wants.

The pair have worked together before during the Argentine manager's spell in charge at St Mary's.

Gazzaniga, 25, has made 21 Premier League appearances for the Saints and spent last season on-loan with Rayo Vallecano.
