Tottenham hope to complete the signing of Blackburn Rovers and England winger David Bentley in the next few days in a deal worth in excess of £10m, claims the Islington Gazette.

The 23-year-old was thought to have undergone a successful medical in a private hospital in north east London on Tuesday and the two parties appear close to having agreed personal terms.

Bentley alerted Spurs as to his availability two weeks ago when he announced that he wanted to leave Blackburn in a bid to cement his place on England's right wing.

Blackburn have since given him permission to talk to clubs, but Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United's reported interest has not been followed up.
