Tottenham are convinced they can land Porto midfielder Joao Moutinho.

The London Evening Standard says Tottenham are confident that Moutinho's desire to work again with Andre Villas-Boas will enable them to sign the midfielder this summer.

Spurs are likely to lodge a formal bid for the Portugal international, who plays for FC Porto, when the sale of Luka Modric has been finalised.

Tottenham had hoped to pay about £20m but it is clear that this will not be enough.
