Tottenham chairman Levy will not cave into Modric transfer demand

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy will not cave into Luka Modric's transfer demands.

The London Evening Standard says Levy remains determined to keep Modric at the club even though the unsettled midfielder has now officially handed in a transfer request.

Modric, who has travelled with the squad to South Africa for their pre-season tour, is still desperate to force a move to Chelsea.

Spurs have rejected two bids worth £22million and £27m for the Croatia international and Modric's latest move has not shaken Levy's resolve.

Having already given two interviews expressing his desire to quit White Hart Lane, Modric's transfer request has made little impact.

Levy is determined not to sell him this summer even if it means holding on to an unhappy player.
