Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy wants to sign permanently Emmanuel Adebayor.
Levy is keen to conclude a permanent deal with Manchester City for striker Adebayor. But his £170,000-per-week contract with City remains a key stumbling block.
Spurs currently pay 50 per cent of his wages.
A source said: "It will be a busy few months. The chairman won't allow Spurs to move backwards."
