Manchester United's move for Everton fullback Leighton Baines could be dependent on Tottenham's managerial pursuit.

The Manchester Evening News says United's bid for the Everton defender could be helped by Harry Redknapp's exit, with David Moyes one of the top names in the frame to take over at Tottenham.

United were already hopeful that the financial constraints at Goodison Park would force Everton's hand when it came to Baines. But should Moyes walk away then the Merseyside club would have even more of a struggle holding onto their star players.
