Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas is reluctant to talk up their top four chances.
Spurs visit Sunderland tomorrow.
But Villas-Boas said: "It's too soon to talk about third or fourth place because so many teams are tight together. It means nothing now.
"We have to open a gap between the rest of the teams at the top and our aim is to take this victory into Sunderland and keep winning.
"We are not far off Chelsea or Manchester City but we need to keep some consistency to settle into the top four and open up some kind of gap.
"We want to have a strong second half to the season, better than last year. It's always difficult at Sunderland and will be particularly so this time after they beat the league champions.
"We expect a run for our money but hopefully we can get a result."
