Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas is reluctant to talk up their top four chances.
Spurs visit Sunderland tomorrow.
But Villas-Boas said: “It’s too soon to talk about third or fourth place because so many teams are tight together. It means nothing now.
“We have to open a gap between the rest of the teams at the top and our aim is to take this victory into Sunderland and keep winning.
“We want to have a strong second half to the season, better than last year. It’s always difficult at Sunderland and will be particularly so this time after they beat the league champions.
“We expect a run for our money but hopefully we can get a result.”
