Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas admits he held talks with two Serie A clubs at the end of last season.

AVB didn't take charge of Spurs until midway through the close season.

"At the end of last season I was a free coach and was contacted by two clubs. But, out of respect to the leaders of Roma, I cannot say it was them," revealed AVB.

"I can only confirm that I was contacted by two Italian teams, but in both cases nothing came from those initial soundings."
