Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp will target players in their "prime" this summer rather than youngsters with potential. "You have to keep moving forward," Redknapp said.
"I just want players who can come in and make us a better team.
"The players that I have in mind are playing very well and are in their prime."
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy could still look for investment in youth, although recent young signings have not lived up to their potential.
Kevin-Prince Boateng and Giovani dos Santos are among the recent youngsters the club have invested in, with both being loaned out this season after failing to establish themselves in the first team.
"I'll sit down with the chairman this week and have a chat and see where we go," he said.
"I've got one or two people I'd like to bring in, whether we can get them I don't know.
"If we could get the couple of players I'd like I think we'd be a good side next year."
