Tottenham boss takes control of Eriksen contract saga

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has stepped in to ensure Christian Eriksen signs a new deal with the club.

The Denmark international and his representatives have been in discussions with the North London club regarding a new contract since March.

It has been suggested that Eriksen was not happy with the terms proposed by Spurs but it is now understood that Pochettino has personally stepped in to make sure the 24-year-old is duly taken care of.

Talks stagnated last month but the Argentine has pushed things along and Eriksen is now set to put pen to a new four-year deal at White Hart Lane which will see him earn around £70,000 a week.

The former Ajax star is currently contracted with Spurs until the summer of 2018.
