Tottenham caretaker boss Tim Sherwood paid tribute to Andre Villas-Boas after their Capital One Cup elimination by West Ham United.

Sherwood took charge following the departure of Villas-Boas on Monday.

"I think he did a good job at the football club as a whole. I wish him well. He's a really nice guy and everyone liked him around the football club.

"It's the decision the club decided to make and we all have to abide by it."
