Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood insists he alone selects the team.
Sherwood warned his chairman Daniel Levy he would refuse to pick any new signing who was brought in over his head in the winter transfer window.
Spurs also stood aside and allowed White Hart Lane old boy Dimitar Berbatov to join Monaco from Fulham rather than re-sign him because Sherwood made it clear he did not share Levy's desire to bring back the Bulgarian.
He said: "They can bring them in, but they won't play. We're in this together. Unless we're all in agreement they don't bring them in - there's no point, because they won't play."
