Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp admits he found it difficult to axe Jermaine Jenas from his line-up for their 9-1 win over Wigan Athletic.
Redknapp agonised over leaving midfielder Jenas on the bench against Wigan.
He said: "He played 90 minutes for England against Brazil and then didn't play for us. It was a difficult decision.
"I could only play two midfielders and went for Tom Huddlestone and Wilson Palacios. It wasn't an easy decision and I didn't enjoy making it.
"I felt like I'd kicked him in the wotsits. But his attitude has been absolutely incredible.
"You've seen a million players who'd sulk around in that situation. But he's trained like a demon all week."
