Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has ripped up plans of selling Darren Bent in January.

The Mirror says the hot striker looked set to be sacrificed for Jermain Defoe in January's transfer window, with Redknapp an admirer of Defoe's eye for goal.

Defoe has stayed noncommittal on whether he would be willing to rejoin Redknapp - but Bent has hit seven goals since Harry's arrival to win over his new boss ... and the fans.
