Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is chasing Manchester City pair Craig Bellamy and Micah Richards.
The Times says Bellamy, 30, is unsure if he will be at City beyond the summer and the issue of his future is thought to have been raised during a heated exchange with Brian Marwood, the club's football administrator, the day before the derby defeat at home to Manchester United nine days ago.
Roberto Mancini, the City manager, denied last week that he has "a problem" with Bellamy but the pair have clashed.
Redknapp tried to sign Bellamy, left, from West Ham United in January last year before his £10 million move to City and believes the Welshman could form a potent partnership with Gareth Bale, his compatriot, on Tottenham's left flank next season.
Redknapp also is closely monitoring Richards as a potential solution to his problems at right back.
Like Bellamy, the England Under-21 defender, who can also play at centre back, has three years left on his contract and City would not let him leave cheaply, but Redknapp is thought to be hopeful an agreement could be reached.
