Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp admits Eidur Gudjohnsen's performance against them in preseason convinced him to snap the Icelander up in January.

Gudjohnsen, on-loan from Monaco, was outstanding in the win at Stoke City.

"He played against us for Barcelona in pre-season," the Tottenham manager said. "We couldn't get near him. I thought about how well he would do for us. Modric and Kranjcar like playing with him. They play the same kind of game: they pass it and move, and they're clever with it."
