Tottenham have joined the battle for Inter Milan defender Cristian Chivu.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp has concerns over the fitness levels of his defensive options and is considering a new centre-half signing for January.

Chivu is off contract in June and yet to hear from Inter about a new contract.

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has also confirmed his interest in the Romanian veteran.
