Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp admits a top four finish this season would be a "miracle".
Spurs are at Blackpool tonight.
He said: "It would be a miracle if we did it. I think people get carried away thinking Tottenham should be in the Champions League.
"Why should we be in the Champions League? We'd never been there before but suddenly it's 'Oh well we should do it again'. Look at Man City, Chelsea and their wage bill, the money they pay out. Why should we finish above them?"
Last season, Spurs did finish in the top four despite their final six games including Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United and City.
This time they face City, Chelsea and Liverpool in the run-in plus a rearranged clash against Arsenal.
The Spurs gaffer added: "I do see getting in the Champions League as an amazing bonus. If we can do it two years running, it'll be great.
"If ambition is there eventually Tottenham can win a championship. We proved in Europe we can play against the best, so the sky's the limit."
