Tottenham boss Redknapp to make offer for Man City defender Richards

Tottenham are preparing a £9 million offer for Manchester City defender Micah Richards.
The Sun says Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has been assessing Richards' situation at Manchester City and knows that the defender would be interested in a move.
Richards missed out on Fabio Capello's provisional World Cup 30 after an indifferent couple of seasons but believes he has got his focus properly back now.
At 21, a more mature Richards is determined to push his way into the international fold again next season and build on the 11 caps he won as an exciting teenager.
Although Richards has played both centre-back and right-back, Redknapp sees him first and foremost as an attacking full-back who can take over from Croatia's Vedran Corluka.

the idea ofhaving a back four of
Richards Dawson King Bale
would really be something to look forward to!
He would be a good signing. But Corluka would still be no. 1. But when we need a more attacking line-up Richards could move in. Just one thought though, we have Charlie, who is only about 23, and i feel he's one of our more consistent players (although he lacks some in the attacking sense, But Lennon has played better with a more defensive full-back. I reckon Pascal Chimbonda used to ***** him off when he'd just dart down to the byline, blocking off any quick dash Azza may want to have done). And we just spent 17m ish last season on Kyle Walker, Kyle Naughton (both teens) and the versatile Younas Kaboul (who played his best games in a white shirt at RB last season, IMO). No need for a RB, we need a LB, CD, CM, RM (replace Jenas + Bentley), and a St (replace Keane, and Pav). And if we don't sign Joe Cole, we must either sign Eidur for another year, or another striker.
