There is plenty of competition for places in central defence for Spurs, with William Gallas, Younes Kaboul, Michael Dawson and Sebastien Bassong competing for places alongside King, but the club captain is certain to start matches if he is fit.
"He is the most amazing player I've ever seen," said Spurs boss Redknapp. "To come out and play like he does without doing much training is amazing. He was due to come out and train today and if everything goes well, he'll play at Wigan tomorrow. We have a lot of strong players in defensive positions.
"Kaboul wasn't at his best in the first two games but he has suddenly hit form and he has been magnificent for us in the last three games, particularly at Stoke during the week. Gallas should hopefully be fit for the Arsenal game on October 2."
