Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp says Ledley King will be better for his England comeback game against Mexico.
King scored England's opening goal in his first international for three years but his overall performance failed to impress.
Redknapp still thinks the 29-year-old will go to South Africa. The Spurs boss said: "Ledley is being too hard on himself. He made one or two mistakes but he played well.
"If it wasn't for Ledley's bad knees, he would easily get into any team in the world. He is a fantastic footballer and deserves to be at the World Cup."
