Redknapp feels his squad still lacks vocal leaders.
He said: "If we could find someone, a leader, who would make a big difference to us then I know the chairman would do it. But it's hard to find somebody who would change the place and be a bit of a leader.
"You just want someone who can give you that little lift. You're always looking for that sort of person.
"We're a very quiet team. We haven't got any players you would call leaders. But where are those people? They're just not around.
"There used to be loads of characters but not any more. It's modern life, I suppose."
