Tottenham boss Redknapp keen on Blackburn keeper Robinson

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp wants to bring Blackburn Rovers goalkeeper Paul Robinson back to White Hart Lane.

The People says the 29-year-old's career lay in tatters this time last year after a loss of form cost him his England place and saw him shipped out under then-boss Juande Ramos. But he has rebuilt his career at Ewood Park and been rewarded with a return to the international fold for the 10-day World Cup qualifiers get-together which includes Wednesday's meeting with Andorra.

The player has also caught the eye of Redknapp and the Spurs gaffer, who is planning major transfer activity, wants him back in north London. If a deal can be struck Robinson, who still has a home near to Spurs' training complex, would be the fourth player recently sold by the club to return under Redknapp.

Keane, Pascal Chimbonda and Jermain Defoe have been brought back by the manager.

Robinson's return would spell the end of the line for Brazilian Heurelho Gomes.
