Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp admits he wishes Gareth Bale was English.
Bale was again outstanding in last night's Champions League win over FC Twente.
Redknapp certainly feels the 21-year-old is ready for the challenge of taking on arguably the game's best right-back, Inter Milan's Brazil international Maicon.
"Gareth was incredible," said Redknapp.
"Their right-back is a good attacking player but he was run the other way tonight.
"We went to Germany and he played against a right-back there who everybody said was a fantastic right-back, but Gareth ran him the other way all night.
"How do you live with him? He can run for 90 minutes. He has got everything; he can head it, shoot and cross it. He has got the lot. It is just a shame he is not English."
