Tottenham have launched a bid for Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez.
Sources close to Tevez have told The Sun that Spurs boss Harry Redknapp loves the player so much he will try to buy him from his owners for around £25million.
Redknapp can guarantee Tevez first-team football and is convinced the popular striker would be a major hit in North London.
He reckons Tevez could take Spurs to the next level and give them a chance of competing for Champions League places.
But he recognises Tottenham would be outsiders with so many clubs after Tevez.
Tevez insiders insisted: "There are lots of different clubs all over Europe who want Tevez and each one is being considered carefully.
"Spurs would really like him but there are questions about whether they can raise the money quickly enough.
"Tevez would like his future sorted out soon and Spurs will have to do a lot of work if they want to get him."
