Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp doesn't have a problem with Aaron Lennon speaking out on Twitter yesterday.

Lennon pulled out of Tuesday's 4-0 thrashing by Real Madrid minutes before kick-off complaining of a mystery illness.

Angry Tottenham fans flooded message boards, phone-ins and forums yesterday accusing him of bottling it at the Bernabeu.

Lennon has since defended himself on Twitter, declaring: "Believe me this is one game I did not want to miss and (I am) still devastated now.

"But (I) will not be made a scapegoat, saying they only knew just before kick-off."

The Daily Star says Spurs sources insist there is no suggestion that Lennon's anger was aimed at his boss, and that he is entitled to defend himself.
