Tottenham boss Redknapp explains allowing Pienaar to make Everton switch

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has explained why Steven Pienaar was allowed to move on-loan to Everton.

The north London club were involved in a number of last-minute deals once again and boss Harry Redknapp admitted it was difficult to get the deal through on time.

Redknapp said: "Pienaar wants to go. I'm trying to hide from him. I spoke to (Everton boss) David Moyes at quarter to seven. I said if I could get the player I wanted he could have Steven on loan."
