Redknapp was in hospital in London on Wednesday night after heart surgery, but says he wants to be back at work on Sunday.
Son and former Spurs star Jamie Redknapp told the Daily Mail: "'Dad has undergone an operation and is in good spirits. He doesn't want people worrying about him. He wants to get back to work quickly, but will wait for advice from the doctor.
"My dad was breathing heavily when we played golf and I told him to get it checked out. The doctor said he should have an operation and that is what has happened.
"My dad is really happy with the way Spurs are playing at the moment, they are in good form and climbing the table. He wants to get back in the thick of it, but knows he has good people around him such as Kevin Bond and Joe Jordan.
"Everyone at the club has been very supportive. Another win will put him in even better spirits."
