Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is surprised by reports of New York Red Bulls coming in for Emmanuel Adebayor.

The game with Fulham may be Manchester City loanee Adebayor's last for Tottenham as the club are struggling to agree terms over the striker's huge wages.

A report this week claimed New York Red Bulls are interested in signing the former Arsenal man but Redknapp has advised Adebayor not to move to the United States.

"I would be surprised if he went there," Redknapp said.

"No disrespect to the league in America, but he is still capable of being a top player in a top league - whether it's here or in Spain."
