Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is demanding Roman Pavlyuchenko spark up.
Pavlyuchenko missed a crucial penalty in midweek against the Potters in the Carling Cup that ended Tottenham's interest as they lost on spot-kicks.
And now former Arsenal and Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor has moved above the Russian in the Tottenham pecking order.
Redknapp said: "Pav? Hopefully he will come to life. When he is up for it, he can play.
"But there's a good understanding developing between Adebayor and Jermain Defoe.
"Those two are going well. Rafa van der Vaart plays off the main striker as well so there is competition there for a place."
