Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp admits he's delighted to see Tom Huddlestone sign a new contract.

Huddlestone has penned a new five-year deal with Spurs this week.

Redknapp told the Spurs website: "He's been in great form and was more or less an ever-present for us until he picked up his injury. He's had a great season and I wouldn't write him off in having a chance to make the England squad for the World Cup if he can get back fit and have a good run towards the end of the season.

"I've been really pleased with him. He's a great passer of the ball with both feet - as good as you'll see in the Premier League.

"He's had good competition in his position with JJ and Wilson but he's really cemented his place in the team and has been fantastic for us.

"Not only can he play in midfield, he can also play at the back. He reads the game so well and he's a terrific player to have here for the next five years."
