Tottenham boss Redknapp: Defoe stays if Pavlyuchenko leaves

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp admits Jermain Defoe's future depends on Roman Pavlyuchenko's proposed sale.

The Russian is being linked with a move to Everton.

Redknapp said: "We're not in a position where we could let him go. If we're looking to be challenging at the top you need strikers.

"Pav (Roman Pavlyuchenko) might want to go in the window so then you've got two strikers - Adebayor and Defoe, then Rafael who plays in the hole."
