Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp says he always treats Jermain Defoe the best he can. Defoe was recalled for the win at West Bromwich Albion and was again on the scoresheet.
Redknapp said: "You have to keep talking to Jermain, but it's hard to convince him. He's not silly, he wants to play.
"He was a bit low, not playing, but he smashed five in for the reserves and they were all out of the top drawer. I knew he was ready to go.
"He won't be going anywhere in the window. You need strikers and we are not in a position where we can let him go.
"I don't think he has any problems with me. I've always had faith in him and he knows it. I've taken him pretty much everywhere I've been.
"Let's face it, I've made him a fortune!"
